T-UK AGM and Instructor's Course, Sun 26th January 2020
On Sunday 26th January 2020, T-UK Chester's instructors, Mr Emm, Mrs Shuler and Miss Burns all attended the T-UK AGM at the Trident academy in Sale, Cheshire. We are very pleased to announce that our senior instructor, Mr Emm, was re-elected as the Chairman of the T-UK instructors' committee!
After the meeting, T-UK Masters Archer and Ridley, assisted by Mr Miley, conducted a very enjoyable and informative instructors' training course. This course focussed on providing ideas and guidance on how to teach effectively, including useful and appropriate warm-ups, how to teach fundamental movements and techniques and patterns. It also included some excellent guidance on how to teach sparring and to develop our members' sparring skills and finally, how to teach breaking (power destruction). This was an excellent class and it was great that all of our instructors were present, to ensure that our members receive the most up-to-date and best tuition.

Covid-19
Due to the lockdown and social distancing measures required by the Covid-19 pandemic, our classes had to close for a long period. However, we continued to run classes on Zoom and we (the instructors) were really surprised and grateful by the support we had for our Zoom classes. The levels of attendance and the efforts made by those who attended was really encouraging and impressive. Thank you to all of you!
New Class Venue, from Mon 7th September 2020
We are very pleased to announce that, following the shutdown enforced on us by the Covid-19 pandemic, indoor classes are re-starting in a fantastic new venue at the King's School, in their Sports Centre Dance Studio. Classes will be non-contact and socially distanced until further notice.
Coloured Belt Grading Test, Sunday 6th December 2020
We were very pleased to be able to end our year on a high, by hosting a coloured belt grading in Chester on Sunday 7th December, at the King's school. Also, we were privileged to have T-UK President Master Archer (VII Dan) visit us as our guest examiner. Although a couple of our members had to be tested via Zoom, as they were isolating at the time, all of our members that took part performed really well and it was clear to see the benefits that maintaining some classes on Zoom through the lockdown had provided. Well done to everyone!
